A test set is a test that provides all the hardware, software and documentation resources necessary to test a class of products. For example, a test set could be a dedicated memory tester or one that tests the USB 3.0.

Often military applications require a test set for a particular general-purpose test application.

We believe that a great deal of savings can be realized if we can bring about test reuse. We have researched utilizing field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) that can benefit from synthesized instruments or synthetic instruments (SIs). SIs with certain tests lend themselves to reuse in various applications.
